Motivation

Are you interested in comprehensively analysing the complex problems of our society? Do you have good analytical skills, a flair for the social sciences and an ability for interdisciplinary thinking? Do you strive for academic excellence? Then MCC is just what you have been looking for!

Admission

Each spring the Mathias Corvinus Collegium calls for the applications of secondary school students completing their final terms, as well as the applications of university freshmen. Applicants for the university programme must be enrolled in the study of social sciences (law, economics, international relations, sociology, politics, etc.) at one of the Budapest universities, but the college accepts applications submitted by students of humanities on a case-by-case basis as well. Candidates are admitted to one of the Collegium’s programmes after passing a strict entrance examination, including a written and an oral exam, as well as an intelligence test. The latter is an international, standardised test on which our students consistently score above average.

Three kinds of students participate in the Collegium programmes. Secondary school students are offered university-level lectures held by leading scholars and experts, and the opportunity to meet similarly-minded colleagues. They are offered help for the entrance exam and orientation for their choice of university and career. Juniors, belonging to the best of their class at university, get comfortable accommodation, intensive and tuition-free English lectures, may pick up supplementary knowledge at the contextual studies courses, and get accepted to the major classes of the college. Senior students of the Collegium are provided with intensive group seminars and high-level language courses, with personally adjusted curricula as well as selected internships endowing them with a significant competitive advantage on the job market. We believe that our students are prepared to meet international standards and promote our common future on this basis.
