The college is situated in a green environment in the heart of the capital. This is one of the most beautiful spots in Budapest, located on the top of the Gellért Hill with a stunning sight on the Danube and the city. Unfortunately, the 6000 m2 building, accommodating 112 students, was originally constructed for the purpose of training officers of the communist Workers Guard; hence, it does not comply with all the requirements of a 21st-century elite educational institute. Despite substantial rebuilding and continuous renovation of this old building, further technical problems emerge regularly, and a disproportionately big amount of money needs to be spent on works.

During their university studies, MCC students are offered free accommodation in the single or double-bed dormitory of the college. In most cases, they have the opportunity to stay alone in one of these small apartments with bathroom. They may use the complete infrastructure of the Collegium including a library, the Sunley Collection, which is a unique archive on the Central-Eastern European transition, as well as the computer stations around the Collegium. A high-speed internet connection is available in the lab and in the apartments as well, with access to subscribed content and to special statistical and studio softwares not available at university computer labs. The building is guarded by a 24h reception service. Unfortunately, the college does not have proper sport facilities, only a minor yoga-room which is used by the choir as well. There are two rooms in the bulding for social purposes, but the two kitchens and the TV room are the most important meeting points. |

A building designed and constructed for the special demands of the Mathias Corvinus Collegium has become inevitable. Whether the Collegium is going to move to another location or build a new campus depends largely on the amount and type of resources available. |
