A complementary programme
The current system of secondary education in Hungary does not allow students to specialise in areas of particular interest to them or which they wish to pursue in depth during their university studies. Aiming to fill these gaps, MCC provides outstanding students exhibiting special interest in public life with the necessary information and advice in finding their intellectual passion, choosing their future universities and careers. They are offered an internet-based, tele-education programme consisting of courses essential for their secondary school graduation and their university entrance examinations. At the same, time they are provided with a sound basis of social sciences as a part of general literacy. On the average, three hundred students participate in the Secondary School Programme from Hungary as well as from the Hungarian-speaking communities of the neighbouring countries.
Curriculum
The curriculum of the Secondary School Programme pays special attention to areas not covered in depth, if at all, within the standard framework of secondary school education, namely modern history, economics, social studies and international relations.
Saturday Lectures
As part of the contextual studies, the so-called Saturday Lectures are organised for secondary school students. To these one-day mini-symposia, held in the college, we invite distinguished experts, scholars, authors or businessmen who reflect on current political-economic issues.
